"Our objective is to see young people participating in the fantastic sport of golf and developing a life-long love of the game.

We are particularly keen to see young people taking part who, for whatever reason, feel that golf isn't accessible to them. Golf is a great sport, both a physical and mental challenge, and we want to see more kids enjoying it, whatever level they're playing."

Making Golf Accessible To All
PROFESSIONAL
MENTORING
The programme is aimed at beginner golfers, particularly young people who would not normally consider taking up golf. Our aim is to broaden access to the sport, encouraging diversity and increasing participation across less well represented groups and breaking down barriers, particularly those related to race, gender and socio-economic hardship.

Would-be participants apply to the programme and, if chosen, undertake a programme of coaching with a professional golf coach, as well as a bespoke mentorship programme. Each golfer will learn the basics of the game with the objective being, within six months of commencing training, to complete a 9-hole course within a specific score (set by their coach).

If they achieve their target they will then become members of 'Sir Stan's Golf Society', an alumni organisation for programme participants, organising regular tournaments and social events across the UK.

How Can I Apply?

The programme is open to anyone aged 11 - 16 years old to apply. It is organised geographically and we will open application blocks in different parts of the UK at various times over the year. Applications must be completed by a parent/guardian and applicants will be asked to explain why they should be considered for this programme. Anyone accepted on to the programme will be expected to attend all training sessions and to fully engage with both the coaching and mentoring programmes. We are committing both time and finances into each young person on the programme and we expect 100% committment in return.

What is the Programme Objective?
For the Foundation, our objective is to see young people participating in the fantastic sport of golf and developing a life-long love of the game. Golf teaches patience, discipline, resilience and the importance of hard work. It develops physical coordination but also communication skills and commitment. Our objective is to see young people enjoy playing the game but also developing off the course.
